Rye is a place in New York, a bread that goes well with pastrami, and a berry.
A berry?
Rye is similar to other grains we rarely see in unprocessed form – a hearty berry with bran and germ intact. It makes a nice addition to a rice pilaf. Also check out rye flakes and rye flour. Substitute a small amount of white flour in any recipe with some rye flour for a touch of that jewish new york taste with better nutritional value.
